HYDERABAD: Ford India officially entered the small-car race in India with the launch of its Figo small car.
Figo’s petrol variant with a 1.2-litre engine is priced between Rs 3.49 lakh-4.42 lakh (ex-showroom) while the diesel models with 1.4-litres engine would be in the Rs 4.47-5.29 lakh range.
The petrol model will give a mileage of 15.6 km per litre while the diesel models would give 20 km per litre, the company claimed.
The petrol engine would produce 71PS maximum power at 6,250 rpm with a maximum torque of 102Nm at 4,00rpm.
The diesel engine would produce 69PS maximum power at 4,000rpm and 160Nm maximum torque at 2,000rpm.
Both versions of the Ford Figo would come with a 5-speed manual transmission system with a top speed of 160kmph.
Ford India was planning to launch more products in the small car segment said Ford India President and Managing Director, Michael Boneham.
The company wanted to make India its regional hub for small car engineering and manufacturing said Joe Hinrichs, President Ford (Asia Pacific and Africa).
