MAN Industries gets 950-cr order from Kuwait

HYDERABAD: MAN Industries (India) Limited, a large diameter pipe manufacturing company in the country, has secured an order for Rs 950 crore from Kuwait for supply of 1,70,000 tons of large diameter pipes in both LSAW as well as HSAW segments.
 
The order was bagged in the face of stiff international bidding and will be executed in the current financial year.
 
“It is a reinforcement of the promising prospects this year of the infrastructure sector. We are confident that the company will be able to execute the order as per schedule,” said J. C. Mansukhani, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, MAN Industries (India) Ltd, commenting on the order in a release.
 
The company had projects costing around $1 billion in both international and domestic markets.
 
With the latest order of Rs 950 crore, MAN Industries (India) Ltd's total order book stood at about Rs 2,000 crore as on date.
 
With the additional 3rd HSAW production line commissioning at Anjar in Gujarat, the company’s manufacturing capacity now stood at one million tonnes, divided equally between HSAW and LSAW. This was the first ever mill in the country which could produce pipes up to 30 mm thickness in X-70 grade steel.
